Wormhill – Chee Dale Walk

Walking Time – 2h 30min to 3h

Distance – 5.9mi

Total ascent  – 1050ft

We had a few hours spare and the sun was out, so decided to visit a place that is one of my favourites, Chee Dale.

Chee Dale is set in the deep folds and curves of the Upper Wye Valley.  Limestone Cliffs flank either side of the River Wye. this is  best to walk in Summer and when it is dry as it can be quite slippy but well worth the walk down into the dale.

It was so busy in the normal car parks nearby so parked up near the village of Wormhill.

Once you are in the gorge you could be forgiven for thinking you are in a prehistoric setting with all the large foilage and impressive Limestone cliffs.

Well the climbers that enjoy these cliffs bring you back from prehistoric times and I enjoy taking time to watch them as they work there way up and around the cliffs.

There is a steep part on the way back up the Pennine Bridleway but well worth it.
