Walking Time – 5h
Distance – 12mi
Total ascent – 1541ft
We did this walk and we were re routed near the quarry which I guess was for safety reasons.
I have not walked around this area before and it is just outside the Peak District and you can tell they fall under a different planning area as there are some shall we say choice buildings/extensions.
We started the walk at Bosley where there is decent parking then we headed across to the Macclesfield Canal and stayed on that for a few miles the canal is having some work being done on a section and was interesting to see how they had stopped the water and drained.
We then left the canal and headed up the hill where we then had to divert and walk around the quarry which added a little longer onto the walk. We meandered up and stopped for lunch near the radio tower which is actually visible from our holiday accommdation at Anroach Farm
After a short break we carried on to Minn-End Lane and the Gritstone Trail which you can see Bosley resevoir. Then dropping down to walk alongside the reservoir and back to Bosley.
