I haven’t done this walk before, well I have walked along Derwent Edge but not included the drop down to Ladybower Reservior.
Starting at Cutthroat Bridge, where it is said that on a grim day in 1635 a traveller was found with his throat slashed from ear to ear. Amazingly he was still alive, but unable to speak and tell his rescuers who he was, he sadly died a few days later..
It has been a while since I walked up to Derwent Edge and I had forgotten how stunnng the views are and the rock formations.
From the Salt Cellar, Wheel Stones and Cakes of Bread, then there are the views of Ladybower Reservoir. Stunning!
Quite a hilly walk and peaty up the top so best in decent weather.
Really enjoyed this one and will be back maybe in Autumn to capture the colours of the trees as they change.
