Walking Time – 4h 30min – 5h
Distance – 10.2mi
Total ascent – 2097ft
Parking at Eyam, it can get busy so an early start is recommended.
Lots of ups and down hills on this walk and this time of year (Winter) lots of boggy and squelchy parts!!! Got very muddt boots.
Well worth it though, some great scenery as always and I enjoy visiting Eyam, a lovely village and very poignant in these current times.
We even got to here the socially distanced choir group singing carols outside the church.
It takes you past Stoney Middleton and Calver where we stopped for a takeaway coffee and a mince pie, then on up and over the Top Riley and Riley Wood then skirting Eyam and back out again up to Sir William Hill and to Bretton.
Two Gliders silently drifting above us was a nice treat, turning into the fields once more just before The Barrell at Bretton and dropping back down into Eyam.
A lovely pre Christmas Walk.
