This was a great walk that starts and ends at the National Trust Ilam Country Park.
Winding its way along part of the Manifold Way and taking in the dramatic Thors Cave, this time we didn’t walk up to it as we didn’t have the time.
Also going past the remains of Throwley Hall, what is left is still impressive. There were two farm kittens that were in a playful mood which was meant we stayed here a bit longer.
I finally got to walk next to a building I have seen at a distance plenty of times, Castern Hall a country house that is now a B&B. It is very grand indeed with amazing views.
