Baslow Edge – Curbar Edge – White Edge Walk

Walking Time – 4h – 4h.30min

Distance – 9.5mi

Total ascent  – 1420ft

I have done this walk a few times and for some reason I haven’t added to this site!

Maybe becasue it is such a popular walk/area that I assume most people know about it.

Park up at Baslow, I like to get there early if possible to park for free but there is a fairly decent size Pay and Display.

You head up out up through the side streets of Baslow where there are some ovely looking properties, with probably a not so lovely price tag.

It isn’t long before you are out of Baslow and into the countryside where you meander through fields with Baslow Edge to your left. Then heading up on to Curbar Edge. From here there are amazing views overlooking Curbar and towards Grindleford and beyond.

Walking along Curbar Edge you then move to Froggat Edge which then drops down through Hay Wood. You come out on the A625 and next to the Grouse Inn Pub. It was before 12pm when we arrived and it was closed which was probably a good thing!

From here you cross the road and work your way up to White Edge, this is where if you are lucky catch a glimpse of the Deer.

The views again are beautiful from White Edge, once at the end of here the walk joins up with Baslow Edge, past the Eagle Stone Rock then back down to Baslow where there is a choice of two pubs to rest up and enjoyed a well earned drink.
